Vianney Gonzalez
Born and raised in Honduras, Vianney discovered her passion for cooking at the age of 12, inspired by the flavors and traditions of her grandmother’s kitchen.
In 2005, she moved to the U.S., settling in Arizona to pursue formal culinary training. Determined to learn all aspects of the restaurant industry, Vianney began working as a dishwasher, and steadily worked her way up through various kitchens, proving her dedication and skill at every stage.
After her move to Miami, Vianney joined Mandolin Miami in 2013, where she met her first mentor and deepened her appreciation for Mediterranean flavors. She later expanded her experience at Soho House Miami, where she also traveled to assist their New York team in opening one of their new locations.
Once back in Miami, Vianney’s culinary development led her to join the team of James Beard Award Winner José Andrés’ at The Bazaar in the SLS South Beach Hotel. This career move afforded her the opportunity to further refine her techniques under one of the industry’s most influential chefs.
By 2020, she became part of the Joia Beach team as a sous chef, and in 2022, she was promoted to Chef de Cuisine over the 500-seat restaurant and private beach club. Today, Vianney leads her kitchen with expertise, creativity, and passion, bringing bold flavors and globally inspired dishes to all guests of Joia Beach.
