Growing up Saigon, Vietnam, Tam moved to the US in 2008 to pursue a college degree in Hospitality. With a strong passion for culinary and despite having no formal cooking training, in 2019, Tam and his partner started a supper club series out of their backyard, showcasing Vietnamese food that they couldn’t find in Miami. Fast forward to 2023, after many more supper club events and countless pop ups, the couple’s brick and mortar restaurant called “Tam Tam” was opened in downtown Miami, featuring Vietnamese drinking food combined with local ingredients. Since opening, the restaurant has been awarded Michellin’s Bib Gourmand award and Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurant 2024. And Chef Tam has been awarded the Florida New Chef award by the Michelin Guide and StarChefs Miami Rising Stars Awards.
