Lauren Furey
As a private chef, Chef Lauren Furey creates special, in-home culinary experiences. Her focus is on coastal southern, coastal Italian, or a fusion of the two cuisines. She strives to make each meal an intimate and fun storytelling experience that guests can taste. Furey launched her private chef business at Montage Palmetto Bluff and has expanded it to Charleston, SC. She has cooked for approximately 600 events.
Furey is the host and producer of “Now We’re Cookin’” on South Carolina ETV, which premiered October 2024. Season two premieres in March 2026. The series teaches viewers how to prepare meals that encourage joy and companionship.
At age 16, Furey landed a culinary internship at 333 Belrose, a well-regarded restaurant in Philadelphia’s suburbs. Furey’s newfound passion for cooking led to opportunities to cook on yachts, travel cross-country to cook for clients, and create meals for celebrities. Furey apprenticed with James Beard award-winning cookbook author and television show host, Nathalie Dupree. Aside from cooking, Nathalie tirelessly schooled Furey in the arts of storytelling and television.
Furey cooked in restaurant kitchens throughout her college years. She graduated from the College of Charleston in 2019 with two degrees and 12 scholarships. Furey received the South Carolina Governor’s Award, as she was one of ten students recognized in SC for exemplary work. She regularly speaks to classes at the College of Charleston. Furey is currently the vice president of the Charleston chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, a philanthropic organization that elevates women in the fields of food, beverage and hospitality through scholarships and mentoring. She has volunteered with Giada De Laurentiis at SOBEWFF, who she loves! She volunteers with Meals on Wheels. Furey has been featured in the Post and Courier, NPR, PBS, Charleston City Paper, Garden & Gun, Southern Living, The College Today and more.
