All in all, what distinguishes Champagne Pol Roger is “soul.” From its origins in the early 19th century to today, the Pol Roger and the de Billy families persist in calling their Champagnes “wines” to drive the point that theirs are vinous, flavorful, rich, sapid Champagnes. Among the Grande Marque Champagne Houses, Pol Roger is among few that remain family concerns. Pol Roger is also among the limited Champagne Houses that still invest in the time-consuming, artesanal work of making Champagne a l’ancienne - with hand riddling.

The cellars of Pol Roger are among the deepest and coolest in Champagne providing perfect conditions for the prise de mousse (the development of the Champagne in bottle and the “finesse” of the “bead” or bubble) and for the long aging of our Champagne in bottles.

All of the champagnes are aged three times longer than the legislation requires, which is also a substantial investment in ensuring quality. This long aging adds finesse to the champagne’s complexity and elegance. Time is quality in Champagne!

During this seminar, guests will taste several champagnes produced at Pol Roger - from the flagship Brut Reserve “White Foil” to the prestigious cuvee “Sir Winston Churchill.”
