It’s snazzy, it’s jazzy, it’s a SOBEWFF® brunch with Marcus Samuelsson -- need we say more? The James Beard Award-winning chef, Food Network favorite, cookbook author, and 2020 SOBEWFF® Tribute Dinner honoree is back as the headliner of this rousing afternoon that celebrates his revelatory fusion of American comfort food and the diverse culinary traditions of the surrounding Overtown neighborhood. Feast your eyes on Samuelsson’s inspired spins on Southern classics which, when paired with deluxe wines from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio, are destined to hit you with the hottest of notes. Red Rooster’s swanky lounge experience located in the upstairs area of Clyde Killen’s iconic pool hall -- aptly named, The Pool Hall -- will drum up the snappiest speakeasy sounds of days (and nights) gone by, when legends like Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cooke, and Aretha Franklin held court after performing at the Historic Lyric Theater across the street. As Ellington himself once sang, “It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing.” We’re pleased to report that Chef Samuelsson and his crackerjack team have plenty of rhythm to spare.
