Born in Seoul, South Korea, Sunny Oh is the Executive Chef of Juvia Miami Beach, Sushi Garage and Sunny Poké in Miami Beach. He is trilingual and is fluent in English, Japanese and Korean. Sunny previously served as Executive Chef at Nobu in Miami. His exceptional skills range from running day-to-day operations of his kitchens to developing new menu items perfecting his art of Japanese cuisine.
Raised in South Florida, Sunny inherited his love of food from his grandfather who was a fisherman and his mother who did the majority of the cooking in his household. Soon enough, he found himself fully immersed in the cuisine of his heritage. Growing up by the ocean has had a strong influence on his cuisine evident through his restaurants’ impressive menus.
Starting in 2000, he worked at Nobu Miami for 10 years helping open several locations around the world and assisted on executive international events.
More recently, Chef Sunny Oh’s love for homemade fresh ingredients, surfing and poke bowls inspired his newest concept, Sunny Poké. As Owner and Executive Chef of the poké shop, he is the mastermind behind the menu and guests can find him there during Juvia and Sushi Garage’s off hours. Sunny also has his own brand of homemade granola, Oh! Granola, which he incorporates into dishes at his restaurants.
Following his legacy at Nobu, Sunny joined Juvia as Executive Chef and leads the team’s motto of using only the freshest ingredients to create dishes that combine aspects of French, Japanese and Peruvian cuisines. Sunny’s passion for fine dining, creative menu development and high restaurant management truly shines through in his work at Juvia, Sushi Garage, and Sunny Poké.
