Drunken Dragon’s Executive Chef, Sergio Rivera, was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Rivera’s love for cooking began at an early age, spending majority of his time cooking in the heart of his home, the kitchen. His talent was recognized after studying at a Culinary Arts vocational college, when he was offered an internship that brought him to Miami where he embarked his culinary career.

He grew comfortable in many large local kitchens such as opening Makoto Bal Harbour, and progressing from Sous Chef to Chef de Cuisine for Nobu’s numerous restaurant’s and dining outlets.

Rivera embraces the same philosophy as Drunken Dragon – serving intensely-flavored dishes through the use of the highest quality seasonal ingredients and creative composition. Bringing over 16 years of impressive culinary experience to the restaurant, Sergio has done an excellent job integrating new recipes to the menu for locals and travelers to enjoy the unique Japanese cuisine.
