Growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chef Benitez’s interest in the culinary arts began at a young age when he would cook Sunday Asados with his father. Chef Benitez studied at the Argentine Institue of Gastronomy, going on to hold various positions around the world including the Hilton hotel in Auckland, Australia and El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain. He eventually returned to Buenos Aires, where he worked as Senior Sous Chef at El Mercado at Faena Hotel Buenos Aires. Chef Benitez relocated to Miami, Florida in September 2015 to join the team at Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann. In his role as Chef de Cuisine, Chef Benitez oversees the culinary operations for the celebrated restaurant and works to ensure an excellent dining experience for guests and locals alike.
