Richard Huang was Born in Taiwan in 1965. Before moving to the U.S., his humble beginnings took him from cleaning fish in a supermarket in Taiwan to the heights of managing the kitchens of the renowned El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico. It was on the island of Puerto Rico where he learned to cultivate the herbs and spices that give Latin cuisine that distinctive taste, color and aroma and that he later incorporated into his very eclectic freestyle cooking.

Richard has now joined forces with Casa Sensei in Fort Lauderdale. Casa Sensei, where East meets South, is a new, immersive dining experience that combines Pan-Asian flavors with the dynamic culinary traditions of Latin America, in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Mixing and matching global flavors, Casa Sensei’s Executive Chef and Partner Richard Huang, serves a contemporary twist on traditional pan-Asian comfort food including Pad Thai, Lo Mein, kimchi fried rice, Korean bulgogi and Bao Buns along with a ‘free-style’ Omakase sushi bar. Specialty dishes include lobster guacamole, Yokahama ceviche and Korean grilled steak chimichurri.
