As executive chef at Township Fort Lauderdale, Philip Kistner is responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations and creative menu offerings, ensuring the highest-quality food—from ingredients to presentation—and seamless service is delivered to all patrons of this downtown Fort Lauderdale hotspot.

Kistner served on the opening team for Township Fort Lauderdale, and he has been with The Restaurant People (TRP) for more than seven years, previously working at other TRP culinary staples including YOLO, Boatyard, and the former Tarpon Bend Food & Tackle in Fort Lauderdale. He started bussing tables at a local diner at the age of 15 and instantly fell in the love with the hospitality business, never looking back.

Prior to joining TRP, Kistner’s past professional culinary endeavors included working with Landry’s Seafood Restaurants (Chart House, Charley’s Crab, and Crab House), as well as serving as executive chef at both 5th Avenue Grill in Lighthouse Point, Fla. and Sterling Worth Café in Plantation, Fla., as well as sous chef at La Vielle Maison in Boca Raton, Fla.

When he isn’t working, Kistner enjoys fishing and running with his daughter, and spending as much quality time as possible with his family. He currently resides in Margate, Fla. with his wife, Denise, and their children—son, Philip Jr., and daughter, Annelise.
