Michael McGowan

South Florida native, Michael McGowan, is the Co-Founder and Executive Chef of Pink Pie. He is a classically-trained chef with Michelin-starred restaurant experience. Throughout his career, McGowan acquired a variety of culinary techniques and skills including thinking outside the box in the world of dessert and developing new savory and sweet dish concepts. Prior to co-founding Pink Pie in 2016, he worked as a chef at notable Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City, including highly acclaimed Betony. South Florida native, Michael McGowan, is the Co-Founder and Executive Chef of Pink Pie. He is a classically-trained chef with Michelin-starred restaurant experience. Throughout his career, McGowan acquired a variety of culinary techniques and skills including thinking outside the box in the world of dessert and developing new savory and sweet dish concepts. Prior to co-founding Pink Pie in 2016, he worked as a chef at notable Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City, including highly acclaimed Betony. There he worked under Executive Chef Bryce Shuman, who previously helmed the kitchen at the famed upscale Eleven Madison Park. While working under Shuman, McGowan developed a deep understanding of cutting edge techniques that he continues to apply to his creations. McGowan studied in New York City at the Institute of Culinary Education where he received a degree in Culinary Arts and Culinary Management. His culinary career started at age 16, while still in high school, working the line at local restaurants in South Florida.
