Matteo Bruno Lunelli

Matteo Bruno Lunelli is the President and C.E.O. of Ferrari Winery, Italy’s leading producer of luxury sparkling wines, founded in Trento in 1902. Matteo is part of the third generation of the Lunelli family at Ferrari, after his grandfather, Bruno, acquired the company in 1952 from the founder, Giulio Ferrari. Ferrari produces only sustainably farmed Trentodoc wines, which are bottle-fermented sparkling wines made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grown at high altitudes in the mountains of the northern Italian region of Trentino.

Matteo is part of the third generation of the Lunelli family at Ferrari, after his grandfather, Bruno, acquired the company in 1952 from the founder, Giulio Ferrari. Ferrari produces only sustainably farmed Trentodoc wines, which are bottle-fermented sparkling wines made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grown at high altitudes in the mountains of the northern Italian region of Trentino.

Matteo is also C.E.O. of the Lunelli Group, an Italian beverage group which complements Ferrari with brands that share the same quest for excellence and an indissoluble link with terroir: Surgiva, the exclusive and extremely light mineral water whose source is located in the Adamello Brenta National Park in Trentino; the historic grappa Segnana; Tenute Lunelli still wines from Trentino, Tuscany and Umbria, known for their elegance and longevity; and Bisol, a leading producer of Prosecco Superiore di Valdobbiadene.

Strongly committed to promoting the Italian lifestyle, Matteo is Vice President of the Altagamma Foundation, which unites high-end Italian companies from various sectors in order to promote top-quality Italian products and the culture of excellence that supports them. He firmly believes in the strong synergies that can be created between the brands that represent the best of what it means to be Made in Italy.

He is passionate about art and is currently Vice Chairman of MART, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, internationally known for both its permanent collection and its temporary exhibitions.

He graduated with honors in Economics from Bocconi University, Milan and before joining the family business, gained international experience in financial consulting at Goldman Sachs International in Zurich, London and New York.

Matteo loves the mountains of his region, Trentino, and enjoys skiing. He often travels around the world promoting his wines and is interested in getting to know other cultures and traditions. He loves gourmet food and has established personal relationships with top chefs of world-renowned restaurants. He is married and has two children.
