Chef Lina St. Juste, 54

Born in Haiti, Chef Lina St. Juste was raised in a traditional Haitian household where cooking at a young age was standard. She quickly grew a love for creating authentic and delicious meals for her family. In 1984, she left La Gonave, Haiti and traveled to the United Sates to be with her father who traveled to the U.S. on a boat in search of a better way of life.

She started her career in the restaurant industry in 1985 as a dishwasher and because of her natural skill and attention to detail she quickly moved her way up to various positions which included pastry chef and sous chef, just to name a few. Her experience and skills grew from working in diners, pizzerias and fine dining restaurants.

Chef Lina likes to define herself as a “jack of all trades” as she not only cooked but was also a seamstress & hair stylist. She always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur and even left the industry for a few years to open her own dollar store and hair salon. Despite the hiatus, the love of cooking never left her. In 2007, she returned to the restaurant industry and in 2012 decided to open her own restaurant, Nana’s Sapibon Haitian Restaurant in South FL. Today you can find her in Hallandale, Fl serving the community with great Haitian food that gives everyone a sense of being in her native country, Haiti.
