Chef Kevin Lee is the owner of Birdies by Chef Kevin Lee, a modern Korean steakhouse in Oklahoma City. He is well known nationally for his multiple appearances on celebrity chef competition shows on The Food Network, including “Tournament of Champions”, “Alex vs. America”, “Bobby’s TripleThreat”, “Guy’s Grocery Games” and “Cheap Eats”.
Chef Kevin picked up his first cooking shift at a local sushi restaurant while attending the University of Las Vegas. He trained for two intense years under Chef and Owner, Joon Choi, of Sushi Wa. He then became the Executive Chef at Mizuya (at the age of 21), located in the Mandalay Bay hotel. He moved to Oklahoma City in December of 2009,opening Burger Rush. In 2011, he joined the prestigious Coach House apprenticeship program to train under Kurt Fleischfresser. Upon graduation, Kevin served as a sous chef at Vast, eventually becoming the executive chef, serving in that position for three years. In 2018, he partnered with John Lee and Jason Chang to start a new concept, Gogi Go, which now has 2 locations in the metro area. In 2019, Kevin became the culinary director for The Social Order Dining Collective. In 2022, he opened Korean inspired fried chicken restaurant Birdie’s, which re- opened as “Birdies by Chef Kevin” in January 2024
