Chef Jorge Mas’ love for the culinary field began while watching his grandmother cook at her home in San Juan de los Yeras, in Villa Clara, Cuba. In 2013, he moved to Miami, where he would work at Bread and Butter in Coral Gables; then Barceloneta, a Spanish restaurant in South Beach. In 2015, he began working at NIU Kitchen in downtown Miami and four years later he became Executive Chef at Sala’o Cuban Bar and Pescaderia, located in Little Havana.

Shortly thereafter, Chef Mas joined Kuba Cabana, in Doral, Florida as Corporate Chef & Partner, where he is the mastermind behind the ever-evolving culinary aspects of the Company’s two Kuba Cabana locations. Chef Mas has catapulted Kuba Cabana to the top of the Miami culinary scene with his creative and modern culinary flare, planning to lead the Company to open several other locations nationwide.

Dolce Cartel

Chef Jorge Más was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. His love for food began in his grandmothers kitchen, the woman who raised and inspired him to follow a path in the culinary world. After working in restaurants in Havana starting at the age of 18, Más knew this was indeed his passion and began seeking new opportunities and experiences. Jorge moved to the Cayman Islands at the age of 24 where he honed his skills in the kitchen for 6 years. His journey didn’t stop there. In 2013, he decided to take his culinary expertise to Miami, a city renowned for its vibrant food scene.

He began working in esteemed restaurants such as Bread & Butter, Barceloneta, and Niu Kitchen. Each of these experiences provided Jorge with a unique perspective on different cuisines and restaurant operations taking on different leadership roles.

The year 2020 marked a significant milestone in Jorge’s career. Amidst the global pandemic, his innovative spirit gave birth to an exciting new venture, Dolce Cartel.

Chef Más, now corporate chef of UMG Hospitality and Mambi Hospitality, showcased his culinary prowess in restaurants like “Kuba Cabana” and recently opened “Carnicero Steakhouse.” Designing concepts and creating a unique take on Carribean fusion cuisine, his innovative approach to cooking and dedication to quality made has made him a valuable asset in these establishments, and any project he takes on. His newest endeavor and solo project will open in spring of 2025, here, in the paradise city of Miami.
