Executive Chef, Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar

Javier Narvaez serves as the Executive Chef of Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar in Miami, Florida at the brand’s Doral location. Narvaez’s exceptional skills range from leading the day-to-day operations of the kitchen to creating innovative dishes utilizing authentic flavors. Originally based at the Kendall location, Narvaez now also develops the seasonal menus items for the Pisco y Nazca brand and oversees training for chefs across all markets.

Born in New Jersey, Narvaez spent most of his childhood traveling to Ecuador where he spent summers learning to cook with his aunts mastering his culinary skills. Inspired by chefs such as Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse and others, Narvaez developed a passion for learning innovative ways to combine fresh ingredients and be creative in the kitchen.

Narvaez completed his culinary training at the New York Restaurant School in 2001 where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. His talent and dedication were essential to the success of his career, starting out as a line cook at Sodexo Marriott at ABC studios in New York and advancing to Executive Sous Chef at the famous CAVE restaurant in Ecuador. After achieving various career milestones, Narvaez set his sights on Pisco y Nazca, where he now leads the gastronomical experience for guests.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Narvaez can be found spending quality time with his wife and five-year-old son who loves to help him in the kitchen.
