Jarmel began her hospitality career while attending the University of Chicago to complete her degree in biochemistry. After years behind the stick, she began working at the Aviary in Chicago to learn about craft cocktailing. Within a year, she was promoted to Assistant Bar Director and spent the next six years creating cocktails and training the staff there. She then moved on to open Higher Ground at the Arlo Hotel Wynwood with Bar Lab Hospitality as Bar manager. Competing was always a fun outlet for Jarmel and she won multiple titles including first place in Chicago Stars, third place in Shake it Up National Classic and was Top 10 in Diageo presents World Class the last two years.
