James Tahhan

Born in the small town of Los Teques, Venezuela, the three-time Emmy Award winner Chef James Tahhan comes from a large family of Arab-Armenian descent with large culinary influences. From an early age, he spent many hours in the kitchen with his parents developing his affection for the culinary arts. Born in the small town of Los Teques, Venezuela, the three-time Emmy Award winner Chef James Tahhan comes from a large family of Arab-Armenian descent with large culinary influences. From an early age, he spent many hours in the kitchen with his parents developing his affection for the culinary arts. It was that same passion that led him to enroll at Le Cordon Bleu University and specialize in International Cuisine and Pastry.

After almost 6 years of working with various brands and products on radio and television, James saw the opportunity to grow as a television talent and decided to respond to an open-call audition for Telemundo’s morning show “¡Levantate!” (Nowadays “Un Nuevo Dia”) were he was casted as the official chef and co-host of the show.

In 2014, Tahhan was selected as one of the 50 Most Beautiful Personalities by “People en Español” magazine and Latin Times named James “Chef of the Year.” He also represented the Hispanic Heritage month on the Today Show and participated as guest judge in Food Network’s “Chopped.”

In 2016, E! entertainment named James the “#1 Latino Chef to Follow on Social Media.” That same year, he had the honor of being invited by the Obama’s to the White House to cook and kick off the holiday season.

His book, “Cocina en Casa con Chef James” was published in 2016, setting a record of 39 consecutive weeks on the Best Seller category on Amazon under all Spanish book categories. This was also the first Spanish cookbook to ever become a best-seller.
