Chef Ivan Barros is Executive Chef at Amara at Paraiso in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu cooking school, Barros built a reputation for outstanding leadership and culinary creativity early in his career in Miami, running the kitchens of multiple famed James Beard award winning chefs, Michael Pirolo(Macchialina), Nina Compton and Scott Conant (Scarpetta). Barros then took his talents to New York City to be on the corporate culinary team for Scott Conant. Los Angeles was the next place he called home, spending 5 years at the helm of Alimento in Silverlake before opening his own restaurant in Santa Monica. In addition to Amara, Barros can be found in 2024 rocking cooking competitions on The Food Network.
