Federica Rosy is the 5th generation of the Pio Cesare Family. She was born in 1997—the year of one of the most outstanding vintages of Barolo and Barbaresco of the past. She is the only child of the 4th generation who is leading the company, Pio Boffa, today.
After finishing high school and at only 18 years old, Federica decided to join the Pio Cesare winery. At the same time, she entered the university in Turin to study business administration. She graduated in 2019, and since then she is strongly committed in carrying on the legacy of her family run business.
Since she was a child, Federica has always shown a great interest and passion in the wine world. Since graduating from the university, she has worked in different areas at Pio Cesare, in the vineyards, the cellar, the administration office, the marketing department, and sales, while travelling all around the world to promote her family wines.
Since April 2021, when her father, Pio Boffa—the 4th generation, passed away, she has been leading and directing Pio Cesare with the invaluable help of her cousin, Cesare Benvenuto, with the same passion, commitment, and dedication; guaranteeing the continuity of the Pio Cesare wines and philosophy in the future. At the same time, Federica is dedicating herself also to new projects, such as the production of a new white wine called Timorasso, the fight against climate change by growing Nebbiolo grape variety at higher altitudes, and the construction of a new part of the winery with more efficient working spaces.
