Fabrice ROSSET was born in Epernay, in the heart of the Champagne region, on July 28, 1950.

He obtained his “baccalaureat” from the Lycee Clemenceau, studied Business Administration at Reims University, and then, after his military service (Ecole Inter-Armee des Sports), studied Law at the Faculty of Reims. However he “resigned” in January 1974, before completion of the course, in order to answer the call of a celebrated Champagne House – Louis Roederer.

Champagnes Louis Roederer, impressed by his language skills and keen interest in international business, recruited ROSSET as its Export Director. He joined a Group with a strong personality and an obsession for product quality and performance. His fit with the Group was immediate.

From 1990 to 1996, he was the Vice-President of the Louis Roederer Group which, under the energetic leadership of its President, Jean-Claude Rouzaud, succeeded by his son, Frederic, had already embarked upon a widescale diversification strategy: Roederer Estate (California, USA) / Ramos Pinto (Portugal) / Chateau Haut Beausejour, followed by Chateau de Pez (Saint Estephe, France). In line with Frederic Rouzaud’s vision, these outstanding wine companies were later joined by others, as equally prestigious, including Champagne Deutz / Delas Freres (Rhone Valley, France), Domaines Ott (Provence, France) and Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande (St Julien, France)… and more.

Industrious, talented, and showing an increasing interest in the Louis Roederer Group’s general business management, Fabrice Ross ET was invited by the majority shareholder, the Rouzaud family, to play an important part in the development and execution of the family Group’s international strategy. This he did until 1996, when he was “awarded the keys” of the DEUTZ I DELAS Group, becoming its Chairman & CEO.

From an operational perspective, Fabrice Rosset’s career can be mapped out by successive missions, in which he held the following senior positions, illustrating his talent for business management and his personal commitment:

  • Vice-President of the Roederer group till 1996
  • Chairman & CEO of Champagnes DEUTZ
  • Chairman & CEO of DELAS Freres – Rhone Valley
  • Member of Champagne Louis Roederer senior management team
  • Administ rator/Member of the Board of Portos Ramos Pinto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal
  • Co-Founder and Member of the Board of Maisons Marques et Domaines UK , a company incorporated under UK law and the Group’s subsidiary in London, UK
  • Group Advisor Representative at Sagna P.A. a company incorporated under Italian law, in Torino, Italy.
  • Group Advisor Representative at Schlumberger KG, a company incorporated under German law, in Meckenheim, Germany.
  • Founder and CEO of Maisons Marques & Domaines (Oakland , California),

a company incorporated under U.S. law and the Group’s U.S. subsidiary.

  • President of Champarhone Inc (Oakland, California), a company incorporated under S. Law, and the Champagne Deutz and Delas Freres’

U.S. subsidiary

  • President of Pressoir DEUTZ, a company incorporated under S. law (Arroyo Grande, California – USA)

His career has therefore been one of successive challenges, in various environments and different cultures, but sharing a common thread and strong values: integrity, respect for people and for work well done.

Just like the culture of the Group he manages, and that of the Group for which he has worked for over 40 years, Fabrice Rosset is obsessed with performance and thorough planning. He is even an experienced wine taster who leads many challenging wine tasting sessions with his teams. The Deutz champagne blends are created under his personal supervision.

He is also:

“Master” in the CONFRERIA DOS VINHOS DE PORTO

“Honorary Commander” of the ORDRE DESCOTEAUX DE CHAMPAGNE-The official Wine Society in Champagne – France

“Chevalier” of the ORDRE NATIONAL DU MERITE AGRICOLE

Fabrice is married to Marie-Jeanne (born Marie-Jeanne Depresle, in Reims, on January 28, 1955) and together they have four children: Patrick (born 1976), Isabelle (1979), Frederique (1986) and Marie-Emmanuelle (1997).

The family are keen skiers who regularly ski in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps (where Fabrice’s family on his father’s side comes from). The family also enjoys playing golf but, as Fabrice will tell you, his only real “handicap” is a lack of time!
