The Little Nell at the base of Aspen Mountain, and worked his way up to become the Lead Sommelier. When his mentor Carlton McCoy Jr., accepted a position as the President and CEO of Heitz Cellar, Erik felt that he still had more to learn and traded the mountains of Aspen for the vineyards of Napa Valley, accepting a position as the Estate Director at Heitz Cellar. He continues to prepare for the Master Sommelier Diploma, which he will take for the first time later this year, in July of 2021.
