Eduardo Chadwick
Eduardo Chadwick comes from a long line of entrepreneurs with a passion for wine and today carries on his family’s legacy that began in 1870 with the foundation of Viña Errázuriz by Don Maximiano Errázuriz.
He is the fifth generation of his family to be involved in the wine business and has overseen the modernization of Viña Errázuriz to raise it among the world’s finest. Drinks International has named it one of the “Top 5 World’s Most Admired Brands” for three consecutive years, and it has received the first “Robert Parker Wine Advocate Extraordinary Winery Award” as the “Best Chilean Winery 2017.”
Eduardo also counts among his achievements Chile’s first international joint venture in 1995, when he and Robert Mondavi formed a partnership to create Seña, a world-class wine that would initiate the path for making ultra-premium wines in Chile.
He has long been an active ambassador for his country’s image, and in 2004 he hit upon a winning strategy for drawing attention to fine Chilean wines, The Berlin Tasting; a special blind tasting where he pitted his Icon wines against the world’s most famous Grand Crus of Bordeaux and Super Tuscans. To everyone’s surprise, his wine Viñedo Chadwick 2000 came on top, opening the eyes of international critics to the quality of Chilean wines.
Most recently, Eduardo Chadwick was awarded the prestigious title of “Decanter Man of the Year 2018” for devoting his life to the service of fine wine and recognized excellence in the wine world.
