David Peck began his culinary career at a very young age. Being from Louisiana, great food was always a part of life and being in the kitchen came quite naturally. With a little encouragement from his Grandparents, Peck landed a job in a prestigious Country Club in his hometown of Baton Rouge and quickly realized the kitchen was a perfect fit.

A few years later, Peck made the decision to move to Miami where he attended Johnson & Wales University’s Advanced Standing program. While going to school, Peck landed a job with Mark Militello’s flagship restaurant, Mark’s Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Working for a James Beard winning Chef was tremendously challenging yet provided such an amazing learning experience that has left a lasting mark on Peck’s career.

From there, Peck moved to Dallas, TX where he continued to hone his skills at such places as Nana, Nove Italiano/N9NE Group and Nobu Dallas (under a James Beard Nominee & two JB winners).

After five years in Dallas, Peck was called back to Florida as the Executive Chef of Morada Bay, one of the Florida Key’s top dining destinations. After taking on a few additional Chef positions throughout the Keys & Naples, Peck ended up back in Fort Lauderdale as the Chef of Tap 42, just prior to finally taking the jump into his current venture, the Box of Chacos Chinese Tacos) Food Truck.

Today, Peck operates one of South Florida’s best food trucks: he’s garnered such accolades as Zagat’s Top Ten Food Trucks in the US, Best Food Truck in Broward/Palm Beach County, Zagat’s Top 10 Food Trucks in and Around Miami, New Times Top 10 Food Trucks and many more. His key to success is simple: delicious, bold and exciting flavors using the best ingredients, all properly prepared. Quality always comes first and Peck’s diverse experience allows him to meld so many different cuisines exceptionally well. There’s no shortage of unique flavors and combinations, something that Peck is very proud of.
