Curtis Rhodes
Curtis Rhodes has always had an inner passion for seafood due to the fond memories of his small kid days growing up in Hawaii. Being on his father’s charter boat bringing in 300 plus lb. marlins and eating fresh-caught sashimi on the boat with hot mustard & shoyu was the highlight of his childhood. You couldn’t pull Curtis out of the ocean as an avid surfer and water man in his younger days. Growing up near the ocean for most of his life, he was surrounded by fresh seafood and the different types of cuisine around it. With exposure to local fresh fish and working with top-notched chefs from Hawaii to San Diego and now Miami, he has learned the value and the behind it. Since then his fondness around that simplicity gave him the drive to open up his own seafood concept. Enter The Shores, an idea based on an old Florida-style, fresh fish market. A takeaway where you can get superior seafood in a casual setting.
This concept has been 30 years in the making and Curtis is excited to share this along with his partner Sakhone Sayarath. Although this concept steers away from their original mom & pop Lil’ Laos, a Southeast Asian cuisine, it still brings out the refined flavors of what Curtis Rhodes & Sakhone Sayarath has always stood by and that’s creating delicious, locally sourced food with a huge influence from their hometown and upbringings.
