Christian Chirino
A native of Antofagasta, Chile, Chef Christian Chirino has made his life’s work the study of global flavors and classical technique, brought together with formal education in some of the world’s best institutions. He brings this international savvy and thoughtful approach to his work as executive chef at TUR Kitchen in Coral Gables.
After graduating with a B.S. in Culinary Arts and Science in Chile, Chirino spent years honing his skills in Paris, France, first at the renowned dining room, Le Chateaubriand, During his time at the restaurant, the team was awarded the #9 spot in the “50 Best Restaurants in the World” by St. Pellegrino and also Breaktrough restaurant on 2007
and second in the famed Hotel Crillion, where he worked as executive sous chef at the Restaurant Les Ambassadeurs.
Over the next 10 years, Chirino went on to work for some of the finest large-scale dining and catering institutions in his home country of Chile as a Executive, including Compass Group Brand and Sodexo. He also introduced the Be Sweet Cleta brand to Chile and Brazil opening the restaurant and developing the concept’s catering program.
A lifelong student, Chirino completed a Master’s degree in Projects Management from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2017, and from 2017 to 2018, Chirino earned an MBA in Food & Beverage Companies from the Universita Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
In 2019, Chirino moved from Chile to the United States, where he worked for Southbound Hospitality as executive sous chef from July 2019 until his hiring at TUR Kitchen in Coral Gables, where he leads the kitchen in developing and executing modern, elegant Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant was selected by the Miami New Times as one of the “Top 10 New Restaurants of 2020. Best mediterranean restaurant in Miami 2021 by Miami New Times. Selected in the 10% of the best world restaurants by Tripadvisor on 2021.
