Camille started her career at INRA (Institut National de Recherches Agronomiques) in France and her passion for agriculture and wine led her to study viticulture and enology at Château La Tour Blanche in Sauternes.

She then worked in the vineyards and in the cellar of various Châteaux around Bordeaux while she was studying and acquired best viticulture and winemaking practices in Bordeaux.

When Camille came to Napa in her late twenties, she discovered a whole new world of wine. She had the opportunity amongst others to intern at Kent Rasmussen Winery, a master in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. He introduced Camille to the Napa Valley and its many terroir. There, she met the founders of Merus where she ended up working with for the next 12 years being a true “garagist”, experiencing the most sought after vineyards in the Napa Valley.

Since, Camille started consulting for many wineries, bringing her expertise in winemaking and vinegrowing. For Newton Vineyard, she is supporting the viticulturist team in their efforts to become organic by the end of 2020.

Camille’s philosophy has always leaned toward a low impact vine growing and winemaking, and she is glad it became her everyday life.
