Adrienne Grenier
Executive Chef Adrienne Grenier
Burlock Coast, The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale
A native Floridian, Adrienne was born and raised in Hollywood Beach, and knew from an early age that food was her passion. After obtaining a BS degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Florida State University, she reaffirmed that she wanted to focus her attention on creating delicious food, rather than the science of it. While finally attending culinary school at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2005, she landed her first cooking job at 3030 Ocean Restaurant and was finally able to soak up industry knowledge from chefs Dean Max and Paula Dasilva. Eager to expand her learning, Adrienne moved to southern California, where she spent her time visiting all of the farmers markets, hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, and cooking at the Michelin-starred restaurant Gordon Ramsay at the London Hotel.
Adrienne returned to South Florida in 2010 to work again with Chef Paula to open 1500 Degrees Restaurant at the Eden Roc Hotel, working with local farmers and ranchers as they emerged in the area. 1500 Degrees was soon named as one of Best New Restaurants in the country by Esquire magazine. Also during this time, Adrienne also competed on and won an episode of Food Network’s Chopped.
In 2013, both chefs returned to 3030 Ocean Restaurant, and Adrienne worked as Executive Chef from 2015 to January 2020. She continued her focus on highlighting local produce and Florida seafood, honoring the traditions of the celebrated chefs that mentored her in the same kitchen.
Seeking a new set of knowledge, Adrienne moved to Brooklyn, NY, just before it became the epicenter of the pandemic. Despite the city shutting down, she landed a job opening the kitchen of a tiny new restaurant in Park Slope. Pasta Louise quickly became a beloved, very popular neighborhood gem, based on housemade fresh pastas and simple, family friendly meals for retail, take out, and full service as the city reopened and came back to life.
After a few years up north, it was clear that she belonged under the hot South Florida sun. Adrienne is thrilled to return to Fort Lauderdale and take over the reins as Chef of Burlock Coast Restaurant, located in the Ritz Carlton, and reunite once again with her long-term mentor Paula Dasilva, who now oversees all of the food and beverage operations at the hotel.
