You don’t need a passport to enjoy the pleasures of eating in Spain's enchanting Côte Basque region during this unprecedented Festival dinner. Executive Chef Mikel Goikolea and Sous-Chef Esteban Martinez Lamas of LEKU, a Basque-centric fine-dining establishment, and their culinary team bring to life the authentic essence of Basque cuisine. Goikolea is known as one of the foremost chefs in the Basque country and his love for the art of gastronomy is electric.
For one incomparable night, Goikolea will open his doors to dynamo Chef Laëtitia Rouabah, executive chef of the iconic New York restaurant, Benoit, who will meld their Basque influences with her expertise in traditional French cooking. A French native, Rouabah, who trained under world-renowned chef and holder of the most Michelin stars, Chef Alain Ducasse, is a powerhouse female chef destined to change the culinary atmosphere one plate at a time.
Contemporary French classics meet the artistry of modern Basque cooking to satiate your senses and your palette at this transcendent dining experience, perfectly paired with wine from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio, at LEKU, hidden amongst the contemporary art of the Rubell Museum.
To offer the safest experience and adhere to each restaurant’s unique seating capabilities, tickets will be sold in the specific table configurations listed at checkout. We cannot guarantee that multiple tables purchased for the same event will be located next to each other, but will do our best to accommodate this when venue floorplans allow for it. All proceeds from the Festival benefit the students of the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management who assist Festival organizers in all aspects, including Festival planning, logistics and overall execution.
COVID-19 Health & Safety Measures
Honoring our commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our staff, talent, attendees, sponsors, participants, and community, SOBEWFF® has consulted with the FIU Healthcare Committee on COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols that follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), State of Florida Department of Health, Miami-Dade County, and the City of Miami Beach. All attendees will be subject to symptom/temperature checks and attestation of either a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to the event or completed vaccination, and presentation of a cleared SymCheck™ QR Code. Anyone presenting symptoms on arrival will be denied entry. Apart from the Wine Spectator Wine Seminar series, all events will take place outdoors with new additional measures on capacity restrictions, cleaning and sanitization, physical distancing, and mask requirements. By attending a 2021 SOBEWFF® Event:
- You acknowledge that you (and all ticketed attendees) will comply with all SOBEWFF® Health & Safety Protocols, before and during the event, including but not limited to face mask requirements.
- You acknowledge that you (and all ticketed attendees) will complete a required SymCheck™ Screening & Health questionnaire no more than 24 hours prior to arriving at a SOBEWFF® event.
- You acknowledge that you (and all ticketed attendees) will be required to attest to either a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to the event(s) you are attending or completed vaccination.
- You (and all ticketed attendees) understand that by attending SOBEWFF® and therefore being subject to these COVID-19 Protocols, SOBEWFF® reserves the right to refuse entry or remove an individual from an event if any such protocols are breached.
