Dinner hosted by George Mendes and Tim Elmore

The magical place where the land meets the sea -- that’s the essence of Klaw, the hot new surf and turf restaurant led by Tim Elmore (formerly of Bourbon Steak) located in Miami’s burgeoning Edgewater neighborhood. The seductive, Spanish Renaissance-style restaurant, which sits inside the gloriously restored 95-year-old Miami Women’s Club, has been given the full treatment thanks to the team behind some of London’s most popular steakhouses and seafood restaurants, with an enviable menu that features fresh king crabs sourced from Norway and high-quality meats dry-aged in-house. But that’s not all. This SOBEWFF® dinner will spotlight another winning combination as Elmore joins forces with George Mendes, the extraordinarily gifted former Executive Chef of Lupulo and the Michelin-starred Aldea now at the helm of Veranda, the stunning SoHo restaurant he opened in early 2021 inside the new ModernHaus hotel. Set beneath a state-of the-art, retractable greenhouse -- which feels like the perfectly lit stage for Mendes’ globally-flavored menu, with a nod to his own ancestral Portugal -- Veranda is a remarkable achievement in both its design and culinary approach. (That the same can be said of Klaw is what makes this Festival event doubly blessed.) Lucky for you, Mendes and Elmore are set to bring their keen eyes and palates to this intimate dinner which, accompanied by fine wines from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio, is bound to be a match made in gastronomic heaven.
