Perhaps one of the culinary community’s most fascinating and revered chefs, Francis Mallmann opens his kitchen to welcome Chef Tomás Kalika to SOBEWFF® for the first time - as we kick-off the Festival with an evening of tropical elegance at the trendy and illustrious Faena Hotel Miami Beach. Chef/owner of Mishiguene in Buenos Aires - which ranked No. 18 on the 2018 Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list - Kalika rescues Jewish recipes and retells their stories through a modern lens. A Buenos Aires native, Kalika learned to cook at Chef Eyal Shani's celebrated Jerusalem restaurant, Oceanus, and combines his experience in Shani’s kitchen with his natural Argentine flair to passionately reinvent traditional recipes. Set in the sophisticated beachside luxury of Mallmann’s Los Fuegos restaurant, this unparalleled Argentine duo will curate a menu filled with Kalika’s innovative remakings of nostalgic Jewish dishes and Mallmann’s incandescent passion for rustic ingredients and open-flame culinary techniques - all accented by perfectly paired wines from the Viña San Pedro portfolio.
