Chef and entrepreneur Esther Choi is poised to make an electrifying SOBEWFF® debut with this flavor-packed, Asian-centric dinner, part of the Hallandale Beach Event Series. The Instagram sensation and host of the acclaimed Get Down with K-Town podcast is responsible for some of New York City’s hottest Korean hangouts -- Mŏkbar (the wildly popular Korean eatery with outposts in Chelsea Market, Brooklyn, and a soon-to-open third location in Midtown Manhattan) and the swanky Korean-American cocktail bar, Ms. Yoo. For one night only, the SOBEWFF® first-timer will helm the kitchen at ETARU, the contemporary oceanfront hotspot in Hallandale that highlights the charred, slow-cooked splendor of Japanese robatayaki grill cuisine. With stellar support from Corporate Executive Chef Luca Spiga, she’ll inject her signature approach -- inspired by the time-honored techniques of her grandmother’s cooking -- into what promises to be an enchanting evening filled with punchy, funky flavors that taste anything but ordinary. (One taste of Sessy, her new CBD-infused toasted sesame oil, and you’ll instantly become a convert.) For Choi, food is the ultimate expression of her country’s culture. Well, let this extraordinary dinner serve as your first-class, high-style trip to the wondrous world of Korean cuisine.

Guests will be assigned seating prior to this event. We can only guarantee that tickets purchased within the same transaction will be seated together. If you would like to be seated with another guest(s) who purchased ticket(s) separately, please send your request via email to tickets@sobewff.org. The Festival cannot guarantee accommodation of specific dietary requirements (including preferences and allergies) at this event. Please contact us at tickets@sobewff.org no later than two (2) weeks prior to this event to inquire if the venue and chefs can assist with your request.

All proceeds from the Festival benefit the students of the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management who assist Festival organizers in all aspects, including Festival planning, logistics and overall execution.

All guests, talent, staff, students and working personnel at all event venues will be required to complete a digital health screening through SymCheck™. This includes attestation of either: a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to the event OR completed vaccination plus presentation of a cleared SymCheck™ QR Code. Anyone presenting symptoms on arrival will be denied entry.

By attending a 2022 SOBEWFF® Event:

  1. You acknowledge that you (and all ticketed attendees) will comply with all SOBEWFF® Health & Safety Protocols, before and during the event.
  2. You acknowledge that you (and all ticketed attendees) will complete a required SymCheck™ Screening & Health questionnaire on the day you are attending a SOBEWFF® event.
  3. You acknowledge that you (and all ticketed attendees) will be required to attest to either a negative COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to the event(s) you are attending or completed vaccination.
  4. You (and all ticketed attendees) understand that by attending SOBEWFF® and therefore being subject to these COVID-19 Protocols, SOBEWFF® reserves the right to refuse entry or remove an individual from an event if any such protocols are breached.
