What are the dates of the 2019 Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF®)?

Where does SOBEWFF® take place?

The Festival’s 18th annual edition will feature more than 100 events spanning both Miami-Dade and Broward counties February 20 – 24, 2019. Please refer to the specific event pages for location information.

What happens in the case of bad weather?

While many of our events are indoors; those that are outdoors will happen rain or shine! All tickets are non-refundable.

Is there a dress code?

As a general guideline, we suggest “smart casual” attire for our daytime events. For our late-night events and dinner series we suggest cocktail attire, though “smart casual” is also acceptable. Please refer to the event page for specific details, and we encourage you to wear comfortable shoes when attending our larger, walk-around tasting events.

What items are prohibited from the events?

Security will check all bags at the entrance of all events. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: outside food and beverages, drugs, weapons, backpacks, large bags, and suitcases. Click here to view our bag policy.

Is SOBEWFF® able to accommodate my dietary restrictions?

We cannot guarantee that participating chefs and restaurants will prepare dishes without common allergens; including nuts, dairy, gluten, etc. Additionally, not all events will have vegetarian options available. If you have any other questions regarding your specific allergy or dietary restrictions, please email us at info@sobewff.org .

Is the Festival ADA accessible?

Yes. To request materials in accessible format, sign language interpreters, and/or any disability accommodation, please contact 305.627.1742 or info@sobewff.org at least five days in advance to initiate your request. TTY users may also call 711 (Florida Relay Service).

What charity does SOBEWFF® support?

EAT. DRINK. EDUCATE. - 100% of the net proceeds benefit the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management's Wine Spectator Restaurant Management Laboratory and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center at Florida International University. To date, the Festival has raised more than $28 million for the School and each year more than 1,200 students and volunteers utilize the Festival as an interactive educational platform to gain real-world experience in the hospitality industry.

Tickets & Events

When will SOBEWFF® tickets go on sale?

The Mastercard pre-sale, offered exclusively to Mastercard cardholders, begins on October 8, 2018 at 9:00 AM EST. General ticket sales begin October 22, 2018 online at midnight.

How much are tickets to SOBEWFF®?

In general, tickets range from $20-$550 per person; but ticket prices vary depending on the type of event you choose to attend. The Festival also offers several different ticket packages, each including a unique selection of events. More information about ticket packages can be found here.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Tickets cannot be purchased at the door at any SOBEWFF® event. Tickets to Festival events are available online at sobewff.org or by calling 877.762.3933 (phone sales open Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST). During the week of the Festival, you will be able to continue to purchase tickets online or through our Box Office located at 13th St. and Ocean Drive. Festival Box Office hours and dates will be determined closer to the event weekend. Events do sell out quickly, so we encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance!

Are there waitlists for sold-out events?

Unfortunately, we are unable to create a waitlist for any of our events.

What is the SOBEWFF® refund policy?

All ticket purchases are final.

Do I have to pay for food and drinks once I’m inside the event?

Your ticket purchase covers all food and beverage consumed at the event. Just bring your appetite and enjoy!

Can I bring my child?

Attendees at all SOBEWFF® events must be 21 or older, unless otherwise stated on the event page. The full list of family-friendly events can be found here.

What is the Mastercard Fast Pass and how do I qualify for it?

The Mastercard Fast Pass lane is set up for guests to gain expedited entry into select events. If you purchased a ticket with your Mastercard that includes Fast Pass status, it will be indicated by a white stripe on your ticket to the event.

Where do the book signings take place? Do I have to buy a ticket to an event to buy a book and get it signed?

Book signings only take place within the Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village event, which requires a ticket for entry. Click here to purchase your ticket to this event!

Where should I stay?

The SOBEWFF® headquarter hotel is Loews Miami Beach – a short walk or ride to the majority of our signature events. We are pleased to offer our guests access to the SOBEWFF® travel agent, Carol Press of ProTravel. Please contact Carol at 786.206.2717 to book your stay at Loews Miami Beach or other partner hotels. Which airport should I fly into for the Festival?

Both MIA and FLL are within close proximity to the Festival. We suggest picking the one that is most convenient for you.

Getting Involved

How can I find out more about becoming a vendor at SOBEWFF®?

SOBEWFF® has a preferred list of vendors in addition to some exclusive sponsorships throughout all of our events. If you have a unique service, please send a brief description of your company and any relevant materials to info@sobewff.org.

Can press attend events?

Yes, absolutely! Press registration opens online in November 2018. All press inquiries can be directed to Festival Public Relations Director, Devonie Nicholas (dnicholas@sgws.com).

Can I volunteer at SOBEWFF®?

Yes! SOBEWFF® is always looking for volunteers to assist in setup, checking in guests, passing out materials, giving directions, ticketing and other event support tasks. We also look for experienced culinary volunteers to support our participating chefs. Click here for more information about volunteering.
