Born and Raised in Queens, New York,Oscar Lastra left home to train at Miami’s Le Cordon Bleu. After graduating, he returned to New York to work at The Spotted Pig, Del Posto, and The Modern under Restaurateur Danny Meyer, learning the value of holistic mentorship and leadership. He has also worked at The French Laundry in Napa. He moved to Miami during Covid and started cooking at La Natural, some notable places he has worked at in Miami are: Caracas Bakery and Itamae. When he met Diana, his business partner he knew he had to open a place and Facade was born. Facade is currently located in Coral Gables with a second location in the works in North Miami.
