Doug Riess

Doug Riess has been executive chef at Boatyard since its inception in 2015. In this role, he works to deliver a menu filled with traditional seafood favorites and seasonal offerings for patrons to enjoy inside, outside or dockside at the premier Fort Lauderdale waterfront restaurant. 

Riess previously worked with The Restaurant People (TRP) alongside co-founder and culinary director, Executive Chef Peter Boulukos, and co-founder and president, Tim Petrillo, as part of the opening team for the River House, where he also served as the longtime executive chef.

Earlier in his culinary career, Riess worked with James Beard Award-winning chef Mark Militello at both Mark’s Place and Mark’s in the Grove, prior to taking over Mark’s Coconut Grove location.
