Marc Randazzo was born in Chicago’s Little Italy and went on to become a world champion professional boxer even at the height of his career Marc never felt fulfilled because he had a secret he carried in his heart which haunted him in the brutally chauvinistic boxing society. That dark secret was he loved to cook more than box, so after winning the WBC title he felt confident enough to come out of the closet and tell his secret, he said it is what it is, I love to cook not fight! In 2000, Marc traded his boxing gloves for cooking mitts and went from prizefighter to knockout chef and opened up Randazzo’s Little Italy with his friend famed litigation attorney Jim Ferraro. Low and behold right after opening Terry Zakarian of China Grill Restaurant stumbled into Randazzo’s and called his friend Jeffry Chodrow, restaurateur and they put Marc on the hit reality show, “The Restaurant” on channel NBC. His restaurant skyrocketed and has remained in the top. Today Marc doesn’t consider himself a chef, ask Marc and he will tell you if I called myself a chef I would be lying I cook my mother and grandmothers recipes although unlike them who couldn’t afford to cook  traditional Italian American soul food using the best ingredients imported from Italy. He uses only fresh fish and prime meat from Chicago, his secret is he cooks with passion and desire to please and if that ain’t good enough for you then he can always break your nose, LoL but consequently he gets zero complaints about his food but believe me to get a great food review from food critic of the stars Victoria Pesce Elliott, your good, no not good…great!
