Chef de Cuisine, Fi’lia at SLS Brickell
Hailing from the hometown kitchens of Livingston, New Jersey to the fine dining worlds of New York City, Los Angeles & Miami, Wahler’s culinary journey has been flavorful to say the least. Wahler found his love for food at an early age, learning from his Grandmother who was both his consistent dinner date and culinary tour guide throughout Manhattan. It was during these experiences that Wahler learned what a restaurant should look, touch, taste and smell like.
It was after high school that Wahler decided to get serious about his culinary career, enrolling in the Arts Institute of NYC where he graduated first in his class. Throughout his career Wahler took positions at many prestigious restaurants including Gramercy Tavern, a Chef de Partie position at Spice Market in NYC, Executive Sous Chef at Nobu locations in both Miami and Los Angeles and the Executive Chef position at Milos Miami.
In 2017, ready for a change, Wahler took his nearly two decades worth of experience to Michael Schwartz’s Fi’lia at SLS Brickell where he accepted the Chef de Cuisine position. Wahler is thrilled to take on this incredible opportunity to work with the combined powers of Chef Michael Schwartz and sbe. He looks forward to making Schwartz’s vision a reality through his culinary lens.
