Alejandro Rodriguez grew up watching his father, the late restaurateur Rafael Rodriguez cook in his kitchen at the Trianon Restaurant, now named Palomilla Grill. Trianon, opened it’s doors in 1975 and has been serving the community ever since. At the Trianon, Rafael Rodriguez established his reputation in the Miami community as one of the foremost culinary authorities in Miami for various cuisines ranging from Spanish, Cuban to intercontinental fusion.
Rafael Rodriguez was a partner in several landmark restaurants in Miami throughout his living years. Locations such as La Esquina de Tejas, El OK Cafetería, El Jinete, El Cid, and La Carreta and Versailles were influenced by Rafael Rodriguez and his skills across the board, from waiter to chef.
